Wednesday, July 18, 2001
For the second straight year, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has been named the best large airport in North America for overall customer satisfaction by the International Air Transport Association.
MSP won among airports handling more than 25 million passengers per year. Among airports worldwide, MSP was ranked sixth for overall customer satisfaction and was one of five cited for the greatest improvement in overall satisfaction scores since 1999.
The association is a trade group for the airline industry, and the award was based on responses of more than 90,000 international travelers at 48 airports around the world, including 14 in the United States and three in Canada. The results ranked MSP highest in "ease of finding your way around" and "best restaurants."
Singapore Changi Airport scored highest in the world, followed by airports in Sydney, Australia, and Helsinki, Finland.
