Every time we issue debt to cover current expenses, that devalues the dollar. Your argument is circular. If a debt is not backed by an asset, then the rule of thumb in business is not to incur that debt. The only high risk case that might be worth it is if you are in a market share battle where first to market gets a huge reward.
