The Mitsubishi/Lucent chipset will decode all formats, but
it displays as either 1080i or 720p.

This is the usual way of things. Everyone's chip(s) will
be able to decode all formats, but they pick and choose
which one(s) they will display (converting to those subsets
of formats). This is true of Panasonic, ST, Samsung, etc.

Of course Cube is strangely silent on the whole issue
of HDTV decoders :)
