this scripture shows that the rapture that will come is really the second or possible third rapture depending on how you count.

When Christ arose he was raptured in that he was reunited with his physical body. Then in going to the underworld and capturing from satan those who had died under the law, these souls then had to be reunited with their bodies. Some of these were seen in the city.

it says not whether the graves that were opened went directly to heaven with Christ or whether they delayed, went into the city to be seen and then went to heaven with Christ.

My own personal opinion is that Christ took some of these past believers back to heaven with him( In raptured form while the rest returned with him in soul or spiritual body form and are awaiting the glorified bodies when the rest of us get them at the rapture),, after first some were seen in the city as a witness to those not only on the earth but as a witness to those in heaven of things to come and for His father's approval.

are you saying there will be another 1000 year reign after the putting down rebellion for a 1000 year reign, and this will be the new heaven and new earth reign. First time I have heard this. I always thought that Christ has no need to reign for another 'aion' after putting down rebellion on the earth, and that he would then hand the earth back over to the Father, as it was before Adam fell from grace, with Father Son and Holy Ghost jointly in charge and no need to break them apart for the separate roles they had to take on during the "sin" age.
