Now Osama et al are succeeding temporarily in providing a superordinate focus (against us) in dismantling the sectional rivalries.

You responded to my question about "the sect thing" with an answer that appears to be more about competing tribes than religious sects and subsects. Or, in that part of the world, do tribes and sects break out along the same boundaries?
