The Manitoba Border or The Western End of Canada Unlike most other French-Canadian politicians, when Mr. Chretien speaks to English Canadians he gains in credence what he lacks in flair. In Western Canada he is certainly more popular than many of his cohorts in the Liberal Party. If he ran for a seat in Edmonton he would probably be elected, Alberta's tradition of denying Federal Liberals notwithstanding.
