><>...Good morning Mark...><>
Hope all is well with you. Finally had some free time again to post. By the way....family, and times spent with those loved ones surely is a blessed gift! Beats any actual vacation!
You wrote: I do have one thing I didn't agree with as much. I don't think that Christian's are afforded any more or less rights than any other group in the USA. Nor do I think they should have any more or less rights.
I did not say that. What I said was: A side note: It is becoming quite obvious in this global world community Mark, that....(right here in the good old U.S. of A.) Christians are not afforded the same rights any more as non-Christians.
But of course you may not have noticed since they are not your rights being taken away. Example: Was your daughter ever forbidden from presenting her essay on "Her Hero"? A teacher gave her 2nd grade class an assignment. It was to write a short essay on their hero. After several kids were allowed to stand up read theirs to the class little Susie (don't know for sure if that was her name), stood up in her turn and began to read hers. When the teacher realized she was talking about Jesus, the teacher stopped her in her tracks, and told her to sit down! She did so crying and humiliated in front of all her classmates!
Or WAs your son the one ordered to turn his T-shirt inside out because it read..I love Jesus? While in the same school, same day, others kids wore "satan rules", and were allowed to.
OR Was one of your children a member of a Bible club at school and forbidden to meet on campus while all other clubs were permitted?
Or Was your child the child who while at computer lab. typed Jesus I love you, on her computer, and when the teacher saw it, punished her by having her do an assignment of writing a hundred times or so that she was sorry for doing such a thing...or some crazy saying like that?
OR Was you child the one who was not allowed to enter her drawing into her school project because it was a drawing of a cross?
OR How about the University of Virginia that decided not to fund a school magazine called Wide Awake, even though the U. already was funding more than 100 organizations....but this one was different...It was Christian.
Or How about the yearly ritual of non-Christians of fighting to remove the Nativity scene every where it can be seen
Or The removal of a picture of Jesus hanging in a Michigan school for over 30 yrs.
OR Are you familiar with Lamb's Chapel v. Center Moriches Union Free School District? It concerned a church that asked the local school district if it could use it's facilities to show a James Dobson film entitled "Turn Your Heart Toward Home". The School district opened its doors after hours to civic, social and recreational groups and to other uses that contributed to the welfare of the community.....But Only...because this film discussed the family from a Christian perspective, the school board shut it's doors to it!
OR How about the case of. The married couple who regularly gave 10% of their income to their church and was ruled against in bankruptcy proceedings, by a lower court and then later the eighth circuit court of appeals agreed, stating that the couple engaged in a fraudulent transfer of funds. The couple stated that their practice of ...tithing...was as important to them as life's other necessities. The Court disagreed!! Saying they received Nothing of Value in exchange!!
Or How about the stewardess who was forbidden from wearing her cross while on the plane.
Or School administrators who refused to allow the Intercessors Christian club to display signs on the bulletin board that advertised club activities. Other clubs could use the bulletin board...but... the ICC could not because they used words like "Jesus and God!!
And Mark the list goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on!! And only those with their head in the sand don't know it!
Tolerance, and compassion, Mark?....Yes of course, for everyone except Christians!!
Have to go have a good day Shalom...><> |
