Agreed! But it is a worthwhile exercise. I wonder which religions make a practice of examining the conscience. I know that Jews do, and Catholics do, and Episcopalians seem to. I suppose Muslims do. I think Catholics seem to do it more because we get started at an early age, first communion is at age 7 or so, which means that little kids start going to confession in first grade.
