Siemens, the global electronics giant, has operations in communications, components, energy, health care, information, transportation, lighting, and other industries. The company has offices in approximately 180 countries, making everything from power plants in Egypt to communications equipment in Thailand. Its wholly owned subsidiaries include Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme (SNI), a maker of PCs, mainframes, software, and services; and lamp maker Osram.
