look out below....

end of quarter window dressing is over...

"Optimsm over high-tech stocks sparked by the U.S. Nasdaq's (^IXIC - news) 1.65 percent gain on Friday withered quickly due to renewed concerns over their earnings prospects, partly hurt by Monday's bearish report on Tokyo Electron Ltd , a major maker of semiconductor-manufacturing equipment, analysts said.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun business daily reported on Monday, quoting analysts, that Tokyo Electron may face a group net loss this financial year to next March if chip makers carry out further cuts in capital spending.

Tokyo Electron plunged 5.17 percent to 7,160 yen and Kyocera Corp , the world's biggest maker of IC ceramic packages, slipped 3.36 percent to 10,630 yen.

the SOX index bounced off the down-trending 200 day moving average just like it was made of concrete.... we are still in a long term down trend... the 5/22/01 and 6/7/01 peaks bounced off this down trending 200 day moving average also....

if the NAZ had been open it would have reacted MUCH worse than the DJIA...

check MU ADI TXN.... all the listed semi's got clobbered late Friday afternoon after the SOX bounced off this resistance

what a coincidence the NAZ just happened to have been shut down..... hummmmm..... , just a little curious wouldn't you say? so anyone short the NAZ semis (like myself couldn't cover on this sell-off)....

maybe well get the chance Monday morning....

so who do I sue?
