SAMSys Joins Oracle(R) PartnerNetwork To Simplify RFID Reader Sourcing for Oracle Partners and Customers

TORONTO, April 25 /CNW/ - SAMSys Technologies Inc. (SMY: TSX), an
international provider of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) hardware
solutions announced today that it has joined the Oracle PartnerNetwork to make
SAMSys RFID readers readily available to the system integrators, value-added
resellers and enterprises that are utilizing Oracle's Application Server 10g
Sensor Edge Server in radio frequency identification (RFID) implementations.
SAMSys readers can be easily integrated into Oracle E-Business Suite Warehouse
Management software and other Oracle offerings as part of a complete solution
designed to meet RFID compliance initiatives and/or improve business
processes.
SAMSys' participation in the 14,000-member Oracle PartnerNetwork will
make it easier for solution providers and end users to locate reader hardware
for use in their RFID projects. It will also increase SAMSys' business
opportunities by exposing Oracle's vast partner and customer base to the
advantages of SAMSys readers, including a patented open architecture that
supports multiple RFID protocols and frequencies. This architecture gives
enterprises a choice of RFID tags as well as the ability to migrate to new tag
technology at any time without being forced to change their reader hardware.
SAMSys readers complement Oracle's Sensor-Based Services, which utilize
Oracle Database 10g, Oracle Application Server 10g, Oracle Enterprise Manager
10g and Oracle E-Business Suite to help turn the data collected by RFID tags
and other sensors into real information and intelligence that can be used to
optimize business processes and gain competitive advantage.
"Oracle has been aggressive in developing Sensor Edge solutions to
support the rapidly growing RFID movement, and our acceptance into the Oracle
PartnerNetwork will extend that effort by pointing solution providers and end
users to a trusted source for RFID readers," said Cliff Horwitz, chairman, CEO
and president of SAMSys Technologies Inc. "At the same time, the network will
function as a referral service that will broaden our reach in the marketplace
with virtually no resource commitment."
SAMSys joins an ecosystem of partners that Oracle is building to deliver
end-to-end solutions for RFID and other sensor-based services. Leading
partners include systems integrators such as Cap Gemini, Deloitte Consulting
and Tata Consultancy; device manufacturers such as Intermec, Printronix,
Symbol-Matrics, Zebra, Tyco and Alien; hardware vendors such as HP, Dell and
Intel; network vendors such as Cisco Systems and Verisign; and ISVs such as
Environmax, Savi and RF Code.
SAMSys has also been selected as one of two third-party RFID vendors to
participate in Oracle Partner Network Days in Europe. This ongoing event -
designed to aid current and potential Oracle partners in marketing, selling,
implementing or developing Oracle-based solutions - is further raising SAMSys'
profile within Oracle's partner community.
Oracle PartnerNetwork members can locate SAMSys by searching the
network's online solutions catalog, by direct referrals from Oracle sales
representatives, or through Oracle marketing efforts.
