I've been shorting AOL all the way up. It's been my worse trade this year. Two months ago the shorts were crying about the horrible AOL connection problem. AOL said they were ordering new modems. Tonight I saw a TV ad for AOL saying they had added 150,000 modems!
I don't have AOL and don't like AOL because they kept billing me after I canceled my trial service. However, if they have 8,000,000 subscribers more or less, advertizers are starting to come aboard and a neophyte can actually connect to the service then maybe AOL is perfect for the inexperienced user? The point is maybe one day it will look cheap at these prices if they can hold the largest subscription base and sell ads. Nobody knows?
At these levels I was thinking about short naked options once again. But then realized I have better opportunites like Zitl.
Does anyone have any good data on AOL user satisfaction? That seems the key.
