What makes you think that a US shirt factory worker could afford to buy the shirts he makes unless he got an employee discount or even then?

Then they should buy used, make their own or do without. Just like in any other third world country. Noodles has argued in the past that American workers should make no more than workers in other countries. At least he did under Dubya, but he also claimed to be a libertarian back then, also. So things might have changed.

Besides, just look at what is happening now. Europe wants to build weapons now because of the way the US is acting. But, we can bring shirt manufacturing back. So we are trading high margin goods, made by high wage workers for low margin goods made by machines and/or slave or convict labor. Because I expect convict labor to be a booming source of labor in the country. Abbott should push the Texas model. Florida is all in on child labor. So there are pools of potentially low or no cost labor in the US. It depends on how badly you want it.
