Dipy: I received a call today from my contact in Ken Fisher's office. They use the same industry group structure as I do, the S&P groups, as listed on Telescan. The process for defining the appropriate PSR range for a particular company is as follows:

1. Determine industry group PSR.
2. Subdivide companies within each group categorized by capitalization. Currently, they draw the lines as such: Small company<=$1.2 billion, Medium company=$1.2 - $4.5 billion, Large company=$4.5+ billion.
These figures are in flux because of the dynamics of the marketplace.

Obviously, this involves more art than science since the guidelines are not strict. But, an approximation can be made by comparing industry group average PSR with the average PSR of each capitalization category within each group.

I hope this post opens this subject up to further discussion, ideas.

John
