BIT Integration Technology Inc. - Chinese Drivers Licence
and Infraction Management System (DLIMS) - Update for the
Shaanxi Provincial System
MARKHAM, ONTARIO--BIT Integration Technology Inc. (BIT) announced
today that the Shaanxi Provincial Government has provided its
highest approval for BIT's system by enacting a law requiring all
drivers to carry a BIT supplied Smartcard Drivers Licence.
Eugene Lo, President of BIT, said "By changing their legislation,
the Shaanxi government has demonstrated both their support for
BIT's efforts, and their satisfaction with BIT's results. This
will provide BIT with the facility to issue up to 600,000 drivers
licences within the next 10 months. This will complete the first
cycle of licence issuance in Phase I of this project". As of July
31, 1998, BIT has received C$1.8 Million of revenue from the
issuance of 232,000 Drivers Licences in Phase I of the Shaanxi
DLIMS.
Due to the progress of the first Phase of the Shaanxi Project, as
well as the support of the Province's Legislators, BIT expects to
begin implementation of Phase II of the Shaanxi Project in Q2
1999.
