There has been much talk about the "feeder" and some indicate that it may not be very large.

I wonder how all this has to due with pressure and the way it acts on what it is applied against.

Inorder to fracture and lift a huge amount of rock a large amount of pressure would have to be applied. If I can remember my air brake course they taught me that "feeder" pressure X square inches of surface area it is applied to = "stopping power."

Now I apply what I have found out about diamonds and that is that high heat = smaller stones. If the magma came to the surface with enough presure lift rock up to a few hundred meters thick and a couple thousand meters accross at a temp that would allow for large stones then I feel that it did not go through a small "choker."

Also consider that higher presure = lower melting temp. ( At least for ice )

One of many questions that will be answered.

Still many pieces of the puzzel to be found.
