Kathleen,

You might want to look also at Beacon Power (BCON), which will IPO soon as well, probably in October sometime. There's no date set as yet, but they filed in early August. Personally, I'm more interested in BCON as a long term investment than in PRTN. They operate in a space similar to ACPW, another company from the H-M DPR which I think will do very well over time.

Both ACPW and BCON offer immediately available solutions to replacing battery banks, while ensuring stable, high-nines power availability, and all at a price which is cost effective. I think the market for flywheel systems will grow very rapidly, as companies faced with replacing battery arrays (which is necessary periodically) decide to instead go with a flywheel solution. Besides the competition listed in the links (which I consider not very strong), I would also count CPST as a significant competitor, though they of course do not make flywheels but rather microturbines. Still, they might be seen as an alternative to replacing battery arrays, and are a successful, immediately available, and cost-effective solution.
