Shorting is risky business. My sole experience with shorting via buying puts was a disaster, even if it seemed certain the stock would fall, as described below. Not really a bubble situation but I learned the hard way the riskyness of shorting.

Got Burned On MSB Puts <OUCH>

Well, my sojourn into options was a dismal failure. When CLF closed the Northshore mine which drives MSB's royalties I bet MSB would sink in price by buying $11K of puts. Unfortunately, MSB rose in price and wiped out my options. I finally bailed last week at $1K, losing $10K.
