Company Press Release

Charles Smith, Former NBA Player With the New York
Knicks, LA Clippers and San Antonio Spurs and VP of
NBA Player Relations, Buys Stake in USBL's
Connecticut Skyhawks

MILFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 1998--The United States Basketball League (OTCBB: USBL - news) announced today that Charles Smith, former NBA Player and current Vice President of Player Relations for the NBA, has become a part owner in the USBL's
Connecticut Skyhawks franchise.

The announcement was made at a 4:00 PM EST Press Conference at Charles Smith's BAR '45 Restaurant & Museum, located at 1450 Barnum Ave. in Bridgeport.

Charles Smith and other interested parties such as former NCAA All-American, Walter Luckett, presented details of the 1998 Skyhawks agenda. Growing up in Bridgeport, Smith sought out the opportunity to be involved with the Skyhawks. The Connecticut Skyhawks have
begun their first season playing at the William Pitt Center on the Sacred Heart University Campus. Sacred Heart is located on the Bridgeport/Fairfield line. Smith and Luckett discussed the benefits that the Skyhawks could provide to the children of the Charles Smith Jr. Foundation.

''These gentleman's religious, moral, and social voices will harmonize well with the present partnership,'' said Skyhawks President, Terry Munk. ''The future of the Connecticut Skyhawks are incalculably enhanced by their added association.''

The USBL is currently in its 13th season of play. The USBL is made-up of twelve teams in three divisions. Since 1985 the USBL has sent 114 players on to the NBA. Among the number of Alumni are Muggsy Bogues, Anthony Mason, Chris Childs, Charlie Ward, Mario Elie and John ''Hot Rod'' Williams.

Although there are other publicly traded sports teams such as the Boston Celtics (NYSE: BOS - news) and Ascent Entertainment (NASDAQ: GOAL - news) owners of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, the USBL is the first and only publicly traded Sports League allowing
fans to become owners (OTCBB: USBL - news).
