Lurker #3 here. I too got an e-mail (from a reliable source) and posted it to the CREAF thread, where I got a quick reply that the whole thing was a hoax. The FCC is responding to e-mails in their direction with a computer generated rebuttal that says in effect that there is no such initiative by the phone companies at the present time. Thought I'd save you the embarrasment of continuing the hoax.

Re: Lurking. I'm at post #203 (and counting) in the continuing dialog between (largely) you and Mat. When I get to the end I intend to jump in with a few posts. I'm waiting for a little more cash to manifest before buying COST, but am very serious about doing so. Right now I'm sheepishly sitting on a 40% paper loss with Creative Technology (think Soundblaster, I take that back, think DVD <g>).

Guilt by association has creamed CREAF even though all the fundamentals are positive (beat earnings estimates 5 quarters running). They are sitting on a pile of cash (US$380m), but they are based in Singapore and right now fear of Asia is King. Two killer acquisitions last month of Ensoniq and Cambridge Soundworks still haven't managed to stay off the panic.

I'm not panic-ed however, just long and thin.

PS: regarding acronyms, what is <eom>?
