HI Mannie,
Once again good research on the source document.
Yet our cost of electricity is 1/3 of Germany's.
Natural gas is very inexpensive because fracking produces natural gas as a bi-product of seeking oil ( sitting around 3.00 this last week - up from low 2.00's during the summers off season).
The carbon footprint of the US has been reduced, unlike almost all other countries who have over committed to a much more expensive source of electricity (when rabates are considered). Sadly countries who have over committed to renewables (Germany) are now resorting to the cheapest and dirtiest electrical generation using coal as its source for reliable back up when renewable's intermittency does not work. The US carbon footprint has been reduced due to our fracking AND INEXPENSIVE NATURAL GAS REPLACING DIRTIER COAL.
These are not large corporate false schemes, they are public facts.
Once again you slur the sources funding the reort in an effort to undermine their facts.
Dispute the content and you'll have my attention.
Your posts, are under the table character defamation innuendo. Not constructive at all regarding the real issues.
Just the facts please mannie, just the facts - that's what directs our country to a leadership role, while the rest of the world chases cheaper and more damaging methods of maintaining the modern lifestyle that keeps us healthy and living longer - not much bad about that in my way of thinking.
We must lead with transparency, innovation, and efficiency.
Calling something cheap when it is in fact expensive, is a poor way to start earning the hearts of those who work hard to have actually accomplished a nation wide improvement,(reduction of their carbon footprint) an improvement that is glaringly absent by all those politically correct countries who have not moved their needle and at the expense of their people's lifestyle.
Your poster boy of evil money (XOM) has spent hundreds of million in controlling methane from fracking, spent millions on Carbon capture and storage - CCS,and all but created miracles on bio diesel.
Let's not throw down on those who have spent far more monies on actual improvement vs. your nefarious insinuation of organizational funding,
These "biased reports as you put it are intended to get the FACTUAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND IMPROVEMENTS OUT IN THE REAL WORLD for fair and informed analysis.
PLEASE!
