while the products themselves may not have been a hit, and while the company may not be able to sell a thing, its the patents that matter. From what I've heard, they are so broadly worded that even Pay-per-view services may be in violation of them. These patents are the roadblocks to other attempts to utilize cable for Internet delivery. SRCM may not be able to afford to sue those in violation of the patents, but you can bet MSFT can afford to...if they own them.
