Hi Jack: Have you set up my.yahoo.com this beats
pointcast hands down. After setting it up you can pick the kind
of news you want, ( and it only pushes the headlines ) you click
on a headline and the artical comes up..this saves a lot of
downloading and bandwidth..not to mention your hard drive space.
You can also set up as many portfolios as you want..I got about
15..with 80 some stocks, 147 funds, and all the indexes..
the heart of this resides on Yahoos' server, it just pushes the
summery untill you click for more.
At the bottom of the page you find "news ticker" if you down load
that then any time you activate it, you not only get a ticker
of news headlines and stock summeries and they update ( how ever often you set it for )..I'm no nubie to the internet..but for content
yahoo was first..and it still leads..and it's getting better..
nothing beats it for overall use..and if it can't find what
your looking for it'l link you to all the other search engins..
if you ain't set it up yet try it..I been around and I'm impressed.
I always run two copies "or more" ha sometimes I have as many
as six copies of Netscape running at one time, and Yahoo
is always on one.
