Great thread everyone! I appreciate it!

My own take is that ORCL is playing a cute game of market making. Since the web is a databases and Oracle is "the" database company anything that ups demand for the web will push up Oracle sales. The NC allows a potential "mass" use of the web. Every coffee shop, train station, library, ***school***, will be able to get online for just $500. Oracle may or may not profit from the NC (they get $25 a machine) but surely they will benefit from the increased demand for large scalable databases.

Thanks again for some good insight.
Best wishes and good trading,
Richard.
