Dr.Seuss,

Is this the legal issue you are referring too.
CNBC also had an interview with AVNT! CEO who stated that the legal issues shouldn't stand in the way of there productivity. It may hurt a few but not AVNT! as a company.

As long as I've held AVNT it has had its ups and downs

COURT RULES IN AVANT!'S FAVOR

Company Can Continue Aquarius Sales

Court Rejects Cadence Claims in Denying Their Injunction Pleas

FREMONT, Calif., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- In a significant ruling, today
a federal court judge decided that Avant! Corporation (Nasdaq: AVNT)
can continue unrestricted distribution and service of its Aquarius
place-and-route products. Aquarius, which has been succeeded by
Avant!'s technologically superior Apollo product, had long been the
target of a negative marketing campaign orchestrated by Avant!'s major
competitor. Today, a federal court judge rejected the motion to enjoin
the sale of Aquarius.

"The allegations of infringement have once again been rejected by the
court. Since these claims were first made, we have refused to be
distracted from developing superior technology and servicing our
customers. This technology is important for our continuing success in
the marketplace. With this matter resolved, we are confident that
customers and investors will favorably evaluate the strength of our
technology and business fundamentals. We encourage Cadence to return
now to the professional and healthy competition of the marketplace in
the free enterprise system," said Gerry Hsu, chairman, CEO and
president of Avant!.

The court found that "Cadence has not shown that the Aquarius product
contains copyright protected code that is substantially similar to
Cadence's". The court also found that Cadence failed to "identify with
reasonable particularity a trade secret in any particular function or
structure in Cadence's code."

"This ruling by the court will only expand the already successful
adoption of Apollo and Milkyway, our next generation place-and-route
and unified VDSM database products, by our customers. Over the last
four months we have upgraded more than 90% of our customers in the
United States from Aquarius to Apollo. Worldwide, 70% of our customers
have begun to use Apollo," said Gerry Hsu.

Avant! is and will continue to be successful in the marketplace because
of its commitment to superior technology, innovative solutions and
corporate integrity.

* A recent survey established that 94% of Avant!'s customers are
fully satisfied with Avant!'s products and services and would recommend
Avant! to their business associates.
