microsoft can be trusted (though some would argue that).

but in this case it's your machine and not their download that is causing a problem.

are you running winme? have you been infected previously? are you running nav2000 6.0?

per symantec, the error you received can occur if your computer has been infected by the W32.Goner.A@mm worm or one of the W32.Klez worm variants.

there are other reasons it might be appearing, but you'll have to read about them.

if you are not running winme or the above mentioned version of nav, i suggest that you search the symantec site for keyword xmldso.cab
