Thanks for the reply AJ, I will proceed with yours and the tech reps suggestion and if there is fireworks I may be back to let you know what turned up. I have a couple of other 411 requests in at alt.satellite.direcPC and on Compuserve so I'm hoping to get a community view before doing anything stupid.

BTW, I have been asked by a friend to help him install a DirecPC at his place. He has Win98 and we will order the USB version rather than PCI. I wonder if there is any quirkiness I should be aware of with this setup. My understanding is that the problem I have is specific to WinNT alone.

Finally, I want to update to Win2000 as soon as the commercial version is available. Have you heard anything about drivers for the Hughes Navigator? When I spoke with the Hughes tech rep he was very evasive about what was in the works.
