Olin Reaches Three-Year Labor Contract With Five Bargaining Units at Illinois Facility

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- Manufacturing company Olin Corp. said Monday it reached a three-year labor contract with five bargaining units representing nearly 3,000 hourly paid employees at its facility in East Alton, Ill.

The new agreements are effective Monday and replace contracts in effect since December 2000.

The five bargaining units include the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 9; the Western Employees' Trades Council; the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 649; the United Association of Journeymen & Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, Local 553; and the International Chemical Workers Local No. 6C.

Olin's products include copper and copper alloy sheet, chlorine and caustic soda and sporting ammunition. Shares of the company closed up 10 cents at $19.58 on the New York Stock Exchange.
