Stanford held the lady Huskies of UConn to a mere 12 points in the first half to lead by eight, but UConn pulled away in the second half, up by as many as 15 late, to win by six. UConn played good defense, but couldn't hit their foul shots late while Stanford would take bombs and bank things in. It shouldn't have been that close.

Nevertheless, that's 78 in a row for UConn and back-back undefeated national championships. And the Yankees beat Boston, for good measure. Not to mention I was high bid on the silent auction for a really good restaurant gift basket at our HS baseball kickoff dinner. On the flip side, things can only go down from here.
