I think the main idea with the NC is to focus on cost of ownership. It currently costs corporations 1000's of dollars per year per PC for administration (industry average is said to be around $8,000).

An NC has fewer security, backup, configuration costs etc. The money saved on purchasing the PC is very minimal. This makes great sense for corporate use.
