Phoenix, good point, but my concern is that Cisco is starting to look like the K-mart of technology; buy a hot company, slap on a teal faceplate, throw in some IOS, and claim sector leadership.
Of course, a company can have more than one core competency, although if they try to excell in to many things, then its no longer 'core.' But Cisco's heritage, their 'raison d'ete,' is IP routing, and since the demise of Wellfleet they have owned the router market.
Shouldn't we be concerned if they can't develop a competitive product in this space? |
