ultra-cool ability to image from within windows without booting into DOS.

I hope it works out when you actually make the images. I tried Image for Windows by Tera Byte which also has a cool interface and supports image creation within windows. But when I tried to make one from within Windows, it warned that the system drive may change during image process, and hinted that the Dos version doesn't have this problem. Made me uneasy relying on an image made within Windows.

also ability to back up to a network drive... something DI says it can do but i never could get to work.

I've been able to do this within DI until just recently, which is why I tried another imaging package. I had to make a network boot disk, a hurdle that took me a long time to overcome, but once I accomplished this DI worked reasonably well. Seems now my images are too large and there is not enough Dos memory left after booting from the network boot disk for DI to make a network image. Their solution: upgrade to the latest version.

Well the Tera Byte product successfully made a network image BUT ... It took 16 hours! DI had been taking about 1 1/2 hours. So I am looking for another package and am very interested in your experiences with Acronis.

I've always wondered how one really knows restoring an image actually works without going ahead and restoring one. Kind of like testing the parachute on the first jump. :-)
