scott - i took it off an interview with Amelio in Florida. I beleive you can find the contents at the CMP tech web - cmp.com? I have the URL on my home machine and will post. to summarize Amelio shrugged it off and said that Compusa was not indicative of Apple's performance in the channel. so i question what is indicative? Compusa is the category killer in home and small business retail software - are things that much different at Computer city or Incredible Universe? obviously the corporate market has 0 interest in the Mac - please no one tell me that this is not true. They carted off the last macintosh at my 20,000 plus employee company over 2 years ago and we like apple! THere is virtually nil development on the mac platform for business aplications - dead dead dead. of course apple still has a market in education and within niche areas which we are all familiar with. But the critical # is market share - it is simply a matter of time before apple falls below 5%. Most every partner - macromedia, adobe, Quantum, Global Village which were strong ISV's or Apple partners are hurting or reporting reduced revenue in their Macintosh lineup - these companies are not betting on Apple - thier premier applications unfortunately will be on windows first.
