New member. Wanted to say hi.
Cisco employee via Cerent acquisition. (yes, I am biased).

This is my 2nd post, and I've been lurking for a while. But I wanted to make a couple of points.

First, It does not seem to me that Cisco underpays (in wages) it's people. Over the last 6 years, I believe (I'm very new to Cisco) that the bonus has come in somewhere near 19% per year (since this is tied to profit and customer service, that shouldn't be too surprising). It is true that baseline wages are not exorbitant, but by no means are they out of wack because of the options. Certainly, Silicon Valley is too expensive to pay people cheaply. Anyone stating otherwise, probably doesn't know much about Cisco.

Two, Cerent was a good deal for Cisco. A very good deal. This is what Cisco seems to do very well. Buy good deals.

Three, no, I don't think they can grow as they did the past 6 years forever. But I think they can grow well in the Communications market. I believe they will be 1 or 2, like they have been in everyother market they've entered.

That's enough for now. Hi.
