Administration question for Win XP home user.

There are several users of our home PC and we all use different software bundles.

The trouble is when one user loads and installs software, it also appears when other users turn on their accounts.

Not only as a shortcut but also often auto loads on startup and appears in the task bar in the lower righthand corner. OK, you can unload it after start up but this is extremely tedious over the longer term.

Surely there is a way to stop this???

I see there is a "hardware profile" facility in which you can load a profile for a particular hardware configuration. Surely you there is a way to load a particular software configuration at start up for an individual user, that might be different from other software sets used by other users on the same computer?

I tried changing the start up menus for various users but this does not help.
