JIm...I'll have to take another look at the message I posted..because I am in complete agreeance with you...I don't know what I said that made you think otherwise....Of course aol is marching down a dead end street...kinda like in Animal House...the parade scene when the band was lead down an alley and went smack into the wall..instruments and all.

From what I do remember from my previous post is that I think it is laughable that LOA will spend even more money for 56K modems that is already old...and they will only be putting them into "60%" of their markets...hmmmm what about the other 40%???I can hear the customers screaming already...some chump buys a $200 56K modem who's only purpose is to access online info faster but can't because he is outside aol's access area. CHump is SOL with AOL.

I used to work at a major telco corp (2nd largest in it's field) where eveyone knew that the ship was going down in flames because we were dealing with old technology with no future due to obsolescence. Everyone pretended that "things will get better"...money flew out the window...all the best employees fled in droves...top execs eventually canned...stock went from the twenties to to now 38 cents (and I still have 1000 shares f#%@!). Iknow this corporate culture well...I know exactly what the employees are feeling and are dealing with...I can see the idiotic puppet middle managers spewing idiotic cliches in order to pump up morale like "team effort" and "strong wind makes strong trees" and crap like that alll the while ignoring the real issues ( I was one of those idiotic managers who finally woke up).

Aol is symptomatic of what is going on at many corporations today...glad I'm flipping dog doody..much happier :)
