Andreas, re: Athlon 1233 at K&M Elektronik I phoned at KME and the man said that they have indeed an Athlon 1233 in stock. When I insisted that AMD has never announced such a processor he answered that he does not know whether AMD has announced it but they have it here. I still believe that it is an error and that the man on the phone just had no clue. BTW: Their processor bestseller list of April 5 is quite interesting: 1 AMD DURON 800 2 AMD ATHLON K7 1000 Thunderbird 3 AMD ATHLON C K7 1000 Thunderbird FSB266 4 AMD ATHLON C K7 1200 Thunderbird FSB266 5 AMD ATHLON C K7 1333 Thunderbird FSB266 6 AMD DURON 700 7 AMD ATHLON K7 1200 Thunderbird 8 AMD K6-2 550 9 AMD ATHLON K7 1100 Thunderbird 10 INTEL PENTIUM III 1GHz EB FCPGA Two observations: - For the first time the Athlon 1333 is on the list. - AMD has been extremely successful in raising the performance bar in the DIY market. No less than 7 entries are 1Gig+ CPUs. That means that Pentium IIIs under 1000 MHz are becoming more and more difficult to sell. It also indicates that ASP may be not bad at all. Peter
