NEWS:
VOICE MOBILITY TO BRING
UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS PRODUCT TO TAIWAN
MAKES ENTRY INTO ASIA WITH VOICE OVER IP APPLICATION
VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA - OCTOBER 5, 2000 – Voice Mobility International, Inc. (OTCBB: VMII and FWD: VMY), developer of the Unified Communications™ software suite, has signed an agreement with Logtech Info-Net Inc. of Taiwan to jointly provide Voice Mobility’s Unified Communications software suite to telephone, Internet and cellular phone users in Taiwan, using Internet Protocol (IP) technology. Logtech is a major provider of IP based voice and data services, from its network centre in Taipei, Taiwan.
This agreement marks the first deployment of Voice Mobility’s Unified Communications software suite in Asia and represents another significant step in the execution of the company’s global marketing strategy.
Logtech will both provide VMII’s Unified Communications software suite to its own Voice Over the Internet (VOIP) customers and wholesale the software suite to other service providers in Taiwan. Currently, there are 11.5 million wireline and 2.5 million wireless telecommunications users in Taiwan.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to deliver Voice Mobility’s Unified Communications software suite to our VOIP customers,” says James Wu, Logtech’s President. “These products will create new revenue streams by expanding our market offering and delivering high value applications to our customers.”
VMII’s Unified Communications software suite allows users to manage all of their phone, cellular and fax calls through a single phone number and retrieve all their messages from just one mailbox.
“We are delighted that the agreement with Logtech will be our first deployment in Asia,” notes Jay Hutton, Voice Mobility’s Chief Executive Officer. “The fact that our installation will be part of an IP-based voice and data service demonstrates the broad appeal and application of our Unified Communication software suite – especially how well it is adapted to the convergence of traditional telecoms with Internet telephony.”
