The consumer market was indeed won by the crappy VHS. But in the high margin professional realm, Beta rules. Every time you watch TV, chances are you are watching a taped program from Beta SP. Beta is the standard format behind the scenes that consumers never see.

Conclusion:
Your reference to Beta in your first sentence immediately after the previous poster referred to the old consumer Beta format is either an error or intentional deception. By your ramblings, my guess is intentional deception, but by your snarling knee-jerk responseI can't rule out ignorance! Oh yeah, there is an older non SP Betacam that indeed was the broadcast variety. Not the consumer flavor.

By the way did you ever buy your way out of your $21 short position?
