Thanks, still wondering if this is what we were all waiting for.

Was always a bit confused with the so called department store sales and the much touted liberalization program.

In my mind I envisioned the banks both selling and buying while the department store sales were a one time sale of gold for "collectors" who knew they would not be able to sell it legally until liberalization.

The article makes it seem as though all that happened was that the banks are now buying gold back and that not much was sold back, today. But did the bank sell gold to new customers?

I would not have seen this article without your post. chinadaily.com has nothing.
