I think you overstimate the importance of the Mac in your post. There are a host of decisions to be made regardless of the whining and dining in choosing information systems - even a desktop OS. A company which would today for good or bad reasons decide to deploy macintoshes would be suididal - were talking servers, routers, databases - mainframce access, - greast software from tens of companies - perhaps this factored into the decison rather than a desire to play golf in pebble beach or squelch the creativeiy of employees. Again - i wish Apple good luck but everything i see and hear shows that they are not increasing their market share - I actually think once apple clears up its financial mess which is considerable it will be scary to see how much demand for macs has plummeted for business users and thru the retail channel.

I work with many ex-apple employees in the silicon valley and almost none of them beleive apple will survive in its current form. It will have to radically reinvent itself beyond hiring a cost cutter with dubious expertise in growing a business.

as far as Mr. Kawasaki goes - I have an autographed copy of his book - the Macintosh Way and did indeed read it. It was fluff back then and its shameless self promotion and spin shoudl be tossed into the history bin - not resucitated continously by this shuckster who happened to be at the right place at the right time, a long, long time ago. I fear this will be Apples epitath as well.
