Sounds like you are trying to justify something you are thinking of doing. Not at all - If we gap down I am selling my puts immediately. When the down stalls I will likely be a buyer. I am hoping for my calls and I am hoping for my puts. I will not be greedy on my puts and I sure do not have intentions of shorting. That does not mean I will not do it. I just have no intention now of doing it. I will base my actions on what the market does. No more no less. My intention is to sell my puts and ride out my longs. I could decide to do the opposite but I sure am not basing a strategy on that premise. M
