I'm also reacting off similar stories from NASA with employees fighting to keep the tools of their choice by making the case that, besides being a more effective tool, continued use of the MacOS will save money. It just burns me when a well-feted CIO can dictate that way.

Your dismissal of the effectiveness of such tactics is similar to that of tobacco companies advertising to kids or drug companies providing perks to doctors. If it's not needed to sell the product why do it?

FYI, by no means am I sanguine about AAPL's prospects. I think it'll work out OK from an investment perspective, but it still falls under the "speculative" category.

Semi-related, there's a Bloomberg post out this morning about AAPL offering NT servers next year. Anyone have a link?
