My favourite is inflationary deflation. Which apparently means that something can be getting bigger and smaller simultaneously.

Hmmm...

Commodities are currently inflating. End use products, made from those commodities, are currently deflating, largely because retailers (and some wholesalers) have lost their ability to effectively control pricing on the end products.

Therefore, we have inflation and deflation at the same time, and in the same end product.

This is a complete reversal of the situation that the world enjoyed prior to year 2000, where commodities were depressed and deflating (for close to 20 years) while end user products were inflating (as some retailers had routine profit margins exceeding 50% of the actual cost of the manufactured item, such as Cisco for one example)...

The economy is just coming full cycle, that's all...
