From 88 to 94 , Intc had one split , while Microsoft had four.
From 94 to current , both Intc and Microsoft had 4 splits. Well, as you know Win95 was released in 1995 and software drives hardware business. In Feb 17, the long waited and wanted win2k will be released, I expect the split pattern of Microsoft from 1994 to 1998 will continue, + the internet and e-commerce will drive Microsoft to another high tide; of course , Intel will benefit from this new wave , and so will AMD , DELL, CPQ ...etc.
