Voice Mobility enters Pacific Northwest market
Signs three-year reseller contract with dbft Continuum Communications
VANCOUVER, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ - Voice Mobility International, Inc. (OTCBB: VMII and FWB: VMY), the developer of the Unified Communications(TM) software suite, announced today that it has signed a three-year contract to have dbft Continuum Communications Corp. (C3) act as a wholesale distribution channel. The agreement will make Voice Mobility's Unified Communications software suite widely available in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.
"This is an exciting opportunity for us to deploy our service and test our marketing approach in our own backyard," said Jay Hutton, Voice Mobility's Chief Executive Officer. "C3 fits our ideal profile of a wholesale distribution partner: They have a client base of service providers with the potential to offer our Unified Communications software suite to end-users. In this case, they have several clients with a total end-user base of about 750,000 customers."
Voice Mobility brings together voice and fax calls into a single number, and all messages (voice, fax, & email) into one mailbox. The company markets its leading edge software suite to phone companies and Internet service providers, who market it as a service to their customers.
"One of C3's clients is the government of the Province of British Columbia. Our fax to email offering could be an ideal solution for this client," said Mr. Hutton.
dbft Continuum Communications Corp. is a Vancouver-based Communications Applications Service Provider (ASP) which specializes in providing data storage, automated back-up, loss recovery and other data services to government offices, financial institutions, law firms and other clients. It is one of the largest ASPs in Western Canada.
"Our Unified Communications software suite is particularly attractive to C3's clients because it is easy, fast and inexpensive to deploy," added Mr. Hutton. "It also helps differentiate their services from other providers, creates new revenue streams from existing subscribers and reduces churn by providing a value added service that customers quickly come to view as essential."
"Voice Mobility's product lets us satisfy the needs of our clients and their end-users, with a system we can deploy very quickly," commented C3 President Michael Weston. "It also creates a new marketing opportunity for us with service providers, which fits well with our Communications ASP business model."
"Because we understand C3's business model and revenue goals, we were able to help them create a service bundle with special appeal to businesses in the SO/HO segment," says Fabian Stern, Voice Mobility's Director of Sales. "We came to them with a pricing model, that lets them offer Internet connectivity, data storage and backup and our Unified Communications software suite at a price SO/HO businesses can afford."
Under its revenue-sharing pricing model, Voice Mobility will install and maintain its Dell 4400 Poweredge Unified Communications servers on C3's premises, in exchange for license payments on each mailbox deployed by C3 or its clients. This marks the first time Voice Mobility's Unified Communications software suite has been widely available in the Pacific Northwest.
