very good. no duh needed. you asked and that's what counts. now you can confirm your installs. i'm still puzzling over your assertion that you are not given a choice to open and run the files you are about to download, that you can only save to disk. i have an idea ... maybe your advanced browser settings are impacting windows' downloading ability. try this for me please in ie, click on tools \| internet options \| advanced scroll to browsing tell me which of these two settings have check marks... enable install on demand (internet explorer) enable install on demand (other) on my winxp settings, the first is not checked and the second is hth
