I would think your tip regarding C:\windows\temp would also apply to C:\windows\temp internet files and C:\windows\cookies. Certainly there are a few "cookies" that one wants to keep, ie for the e-commerce site of your choice or anywhere you have designated preferences that you want remembered. I edit these directories about once a month and clean out incredible numbers of small files just clogging the hard drive. For some reason a site that places a cookie, seems to put it in both of the above directories. Possibly someone could explain why that is necessary and whether or not it is IE4 specific? The "temp internet files" have expiries ranging from sign off... out to 40 years in the future. If it is beyond year end and I do not visit the site regularly... it's deleted. I realize cookies can be turned off or set for prompt before accepting, but that makes navigating the web extremely impractical. JCC
