Pete: I can add little to the discussion ongoing regarding Brinker's
proprietary model except to note Brinker's own assertion that his
timing model is both "scientific" and anchored in fundamental analy-
sis. We also know that Brinker places significant weight on market
sentiment as witness his frequent allusion to the reports from
"Investors' Intelligence" and the like. To recall it, Brinker has dis-
missed technical analysis as akin to the handiwork of astrologers
and necromancers but deems it a useful tool in "predicting" the past.
That being said, Brinker occasionally makes academic reference to
the canon of technical analysis as witness his remarks regarding the
possible "triple bottom" with respect to the Japanese stock market.
Suffice it to say, whatever model or technique Brinker employs,
within his inner sanctum, to divine the stock market's inner mach-
inations, normally opaque to us mere mortals, it seems to work like
a charm and is certainly worth the price of admission.
