(NYSE: VSH) announced today the acquisition of the transducer and strain gage businesses of Sensortronics, Inc. (``Sensortronics''). Sensortronics is a leading manufacturer of load cells and torque transducers for domestic and international customers in a wide range of industries with manufacturing facilities in Covina, California, Costa Rica and India. The acquisition includes the wholly owned subsidiary of Sensortronics, JP Technologies, a manufacturer of strain gages, located in San Bernardino, California. In the calendar year ended December 31, 2001, the acquired businesses had sales of approximately $16 million.
